March 3, 2007 – Members of the Ken Zen Ichi karate team competed at the 32^ndAnnual Kenjutsuryu Karate Federation International Invitational Championships held at Lynwood High School today. The team earned a total of 12 trophies in kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) divisions.

Ken Zen Ichi team results: Jacob Bergersen, 1st place kumite, 2nd place kata; Juliana Cavender, 1st place kumite, 1st place kata; Brandon Michaels, 2nd place kata, 3rd place kumite; Christian Michaels, 1st place kumite, 2nd place kata; Alex Rivera, 3rd place kumite; Kevin Rivera, 1st place kumite; Mitchell Smith, 1st place kata, 2nd place kumite.

FEBRUARY 2007-With temperatures as low as 40 degrees below zero, the Alaskan Kangeiko 2007, hosted by Shihan Charles Scott in Fairbanks, drew participants from as far as 1000 miles away, and was highlighted by training on a frozen lake outside of the dojo.
